LifeSense Group krijgt € 50.000 subsidie uit het Stimuleringsfonds Metropoolregio Eindhoven  voor innovatieve zorgtechnologische oplossing voor ouderen.

Metropoolregio Eindhoven subsidieert voor € 50.000 het SAFE project waarin drie partners (Matas Electronics, Archipel en LifeSense Group) uit de regio Eindhoven samenwerken aan een flexibele zorgtechnologische oplossing voor ouderen. SAFE is een systeem voor urine-incontinentie en decubitus preventie dat gebruikt zal worden in verzorgingshuizen en thuiszorgorganisaties bij (deels) immobiele ouderen. De oplossing bestaat uit een combinatie van een textiel- geïntegreerde sensor, app en hoog-absorberend textiel. SAFE wordt ontwikkeld vanuit het oogpunt om ouderen een comfortabeler bestaan te geven.

LifeSense Group heeft eerder het product Carin op de markt gebracht; een oplossing voor inspanningsincontinentie bij vrouwen na zwangerschap. Samen met Matas ontwikkelt LifeSense Group deze toepassing door voor ouderen. Bij Archipel Zorggroep wordt de oplossing vervolgens getest en geïmplementeerd. Het grootste voordeel van SAFE is de flexibele toepassing waardoor geen ingrijpende logistieke veranderingen nodig zijn. De nadruk in het project wordt gelegd op onderzoek en ontwikkeling van SAFE en implementatie in de zorg.

On February 7th 2017 at the WT I Wearable Technologies conference in Munich in Germany, Carin was crowned after a wildfire pitch competition as the best wearable healthcare product. LifeSense Group was selected as one of the 29 finalists from a submission pool of 400 companies from over 60 countries. The team brought the Innovation World Cup back to their home base in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

An international panel of industry experts choose Carin as the most innovative product according to criteria such as innovation, marketability and usability. Carin is an “outstanding example of the vibrancy and vitality of the wearables industry” according to the jury. Healthcare was the toughest and most competitive category according to CEO of Wearable Technologies Christian Stammel.

Initially the interest emerged at the drinks and demo’s meet up in High Tech Plaza on the High Tech Campus, where LifeSense Group’s CEO Valer Pop gave an inspiring pitch on women’s health and the smart underwear Carin. The final investor agreement was signed on the same day the regional glossy magazine Frits published a pitch that was selected by the region’s development agency (BOM). Valer is glad to have smart and experienced professionals to guide the company through the scale up phase.

Dokkyo medical university, LifeSense Group Japan and LifeSense Group sign clinical partnership

Shared vision on women’s health leads to open innovation

Tokyo, Japan – Eindhoven, The Netherlands June 28 2016: LifeSense Group, creator of Carin (www.carinwear.com) with offices in Tokyo and The Netherlands, has entered into a clinical partnership with Dokkyo University based in Tochigi (Japan). The trials are the last preparations for Carin to enter the Asian market.

Carin is an innovative healthcare solution using wearable technology for women to monitor and self-manage their condition in the privacy of their home and during their everyday lives. It enables women to exercise their pelvic floor muscles which is regarded by specialist a first-line treatment for urinary incontinence, a condition suffered by hundreds of millions of women, as many as one in three after pregnancy.  Studies have shown up to 70% improvement in symptoms of stress incontinence across all age groups following appropriately and consistently performed pelvic floor exercise.

Carin motivates and shows the progress of pelvic floor training via a wearable sensor and app. The sensor is worn in the absorbing protective underwear that is washable and reusable.
